SUZUKI WINS SUPERSTOCK

WHILE BMW's new limited production S1000RR has won the first two rounds of the FIM Superstock Championship, in endurance racing it is Suzuki's GSX-R1000 that has emerged victorious.

At the 33rd running of the Le Mans 24-Hour, the GSX-R1000s finished 1-2 with BMW third in the Superstock class. The class winner was the Suzuki of Qatar Endurance Racing Team pilotted by Australian Alex Cudlin along with Anthony Delhalle and Rashid Al Mannai. They had to fight hard for the win but were helped when the Suzuki Motor Events GSX-R1000 was then involved in a accident with another machine. The BMW Colexon of Florian Kresse, Marc Wildisen and Udo Reischman completed the Superstock podium.

The class winning Suzuki covered 801 laps or 3352.18 km and finished eighth outright.
